PhD Student
Myers-Lawson School of Construction | College of Architecture and Urban Studies

Ben's doctoral research explores the effects of building characteristics on home invasion and the overwintering behavior of the brown marmorated stinkbug. This research is a collaboration with the Department of Entomology at Virginia Tech.

Ben's prior research, funded by the Water Research Foundation, involved the unanticipated outcomes of using water efficiency innovations in green buildings. He did this while earning a Master's degree in Civil Infrastructure Engineering at Virginia Tech. Before coming to Tech, he worked for a company based in southern California where he did resource and site assessment for utility scale wind farms.
